Chrissy Teigen does not tolerate criticism of her family bathing routine and responds decisively.
On February 8, she posted several family pictures on Instagram, captioning it, "BAHHHHHHHHHHH." In one photo, Teigen is in a bathtub with her son Miles, age six, daughter Esti, two, and son Wren, 19 months. All three children are from her marriage to singer John Legend, who is 46. They also have an eight-year-old daughter, Luna.
This family picture sparked a fan inquiry regarding why Teigen is often seen "in dirty bathwater." Teigen quickly responded in the comments, clearing the air by stating, "It’s a coconut milk bath for sensitive skin but go off," effectively denying the accusations.
While Teigen has not elaborated on the backlash, she takes skincare quite seriously. In a previous 2019 interview with Refinery29, she spoke about changes to her skin post-children. "Something unexplainable happens to your skin after having kids. My skin is now more sensitive," she explained. teigen mentioned that she once relied heavily on chemical peels and other aggressive treatments. Currently, she recommends less harsh choices, noting, "It’s important to have a regular routine that’s not aggressive or harsh."

John Legend has also shared his thoughts about skincare, humorously addressed rumors about his youthful skin. "I have heard that vampire rumor! It’s not true, but I do take care of my skin," he told Us Weekly in June 2019. He emphasizes a consistent routine of cleansing, moisturizing, and exfoliating. Legend credits good genetics as a contributing factor, citing his parents’ great skin.
In 2023, Legend introduced his skincare brand, Loved1, aiming to share his skincare wisdom with fans. He noted on The Cut in January, "As Black people, we’re always worried about being ashy. We had Vaseline and all kinds of lotions, but no one told us we lose moisture faster." Connecting skincare to his lifestyle as a singer, Legend remarked, "Drinking a lot of water and resting helps both my voice and my skin."
