Chrissy Teigen Mourns the Loss of Her Dog Penny
Chrissy Teigen has shared a heartfelt farewell to her cherished dog, Penny. The beloved French bulldog recently passed away, prompting Teigen to memorialize her in a poignant Instagram post.
In an emotional tribute posted on January 25, Teigen revealed Penny's death. "Our beautiful little tripod queen, Penny, passed on peacefully in her sleep today," she wrote. She noted that Penny was born on her and husband John Legend's wedding day, making their bond even more significant. "She was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy," added the cookbook author, 39.
Teigen also highlighted Penny's playful spirit. "She loved being loved, having her nub rubbed, and destroying any ball she could get her paws on, even until her last weeks," she shared. This deep affection for her four-legged friend resonated throughout the post. Teigen reflected on the unique relationship between pets and their owners, stating, "Never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book."
As a final tribute to Penny, Teigen expressed her gratitude. "Oh Penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you. Say hi to Puddy and Pippa for us. You are all together again."
Teigen's emotional tribute featured various photos capturing her life with Penny. One image showed Teigen and Penny touching their heads together, while another depicted the former model and Legend cuddling with their dog. An endearing shot also featured their son, Miles, 6, playing with Penny on a rug.
Penny was not the only pet in the Teigen-Legend household. The family has welcomed numerous dogs over the years, alongside various other pets like birds, a hamster, and a bearded dragon. In November 2023, Teigen honored her furry friends by sharing nostalgic memories of her pets. She had captioned the collection with, "My OG babies! (always been a basset lover 🥰) give me all the dogs!!"
In a previous revelation, Teigen underscored Penny's resilience. "She has been abused, and we are so excited to welcome her to the family," she shared shortly after adopting her in 2014, referencing Penny's missing foreleg.
Recently, amid widespread wildfires in Los Angeles, Teigen detailed the challenges her family faced evacuating with their pets. On January 8, 2023, she posted updates on Instagram as she packed for the evacuation. Later, Teigen shared snapshots from a hotel room, teasing her followers about her chaotic household. "4 dogs, 4 kids, and a bearded dragon walk into a hotel," she quipped in one caption.
Teigen reassured fans that their bearded dragon, Sebastian, was safe after the evacuation. "Don’t worry, Sebastian made it," she remarked, petting the reptile comfortably nestled on her chest. "We would never forget Sebastian, how dare you guys? He is with us."
