Christina Ricci Recalls 2011 Met Gala Look That Almost Made Her Collapse

Christina Ricci demonstrated her dedication to fashion at the 2011 Met Gala. During a recent episode of Hot Ones Versus, she shared insights about her gothic Zac Posen gown with Yellowjackets costar Melanie Lynskey. The gown, which featured a corset and intricate web-like details, was breathtaking but came with its own challenges. This is prepared by SSP.
Ricci, now 45, appreciated her look at the "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty"-themed gala. However, she expressed dissatisfaction with her updo. She stated, "I didn’t like the hair because it made it too costumey." While she rated her ensemble an "8 or 9" out of 10, Lynskey offered a different take: "If that was me, I'd be like this is a 16."
Ricci had personal reasons for her lower score. Looking at photos of the gown reminded her that after having two children, her waistline had changed. "That waist" she recalled was created from the corset that was extraordinarily tight. She needed painkillers just to wear it, yet she eventually could not keep it on throughout the event.

"Honestly, I had the craziest corset," Ricci explained. "They actually had to get me painkillers, and I had to change in a janitor’s closet during the Met Gala because I was about to pass out." Despite its constricting nature, the gown remains memorable.
Among her various styles depicted on Hot Ones Versus, the Met Gala ensemble stood out as the most formal. Ricci reminisced fondly about her less formal look from the premiere of 1990’s Mermaids. She loved the outfit consisting of a dress, coat, and wild hair, declaring it "a 10 out of 10."

However, Ricci noted she wouldn’t wear that coat again. Regarding her style evolution, she humorously noted, "I was only 9 and Cher bought the coat for me, so what can I say?"
