Claire Holt Sets New Personal Record at Chicago Marathon After Welcoming Third Baby

While not every participant in the Chicago Marathon had an ideal race—T.J. Holmes had a particularly rough day, departing the race by ambulance with an Achilles injury at mile 21—it was truly a victorious event for Claire Holt. The Vampire Diaries star improved her marathon time by an impressive 19 minutes, all within a year of welcoming her third child.

This 36-year-old actress ran the challenging 26.2 miles in an impressive 3 hours, 44 minutes, and 14 seconds, while simultaneously raising more than $100,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital. Holt, also known for her role in The Originals, shared her success on Instagram on October 13. Relishing her accomplishment, she expressed her pride in her training efforts: "Waking up at 4am all summer to train was incredibly tough. I often doubted myself and feared disappointing others," but her determination paid off as she crossed the finish line triumphantly.

After completing the race, Holt indulged in a celebratory pizza while flaunting her hard-earned medal—unwilling to remove it even for sleep, as she humorously noted on her Instagram Stories. Holt previously ran the New York Marathon in 2022 with a time exceeding four hours. This time, she managed to cut nearly 20 minutes off her personal best, demonstrating remarkable fortitude following another pregnancy.

Driven by motivation, Holt highlighted the impact of her supporters' unwavering belief and donations. With every step, she thought of every child, especially Romi—a friend’s child whose life was saved at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her family, especially her supportive husband Andrew Joblon and their children, delightedly celebrated her triumph, with Joblon proclaiming her a "legend" on social media.

Holt, who married Joblon in 2018, appreciates the support from friends and family during this remarkable achievement. No doubt, more celebratory pizza is due as she revels in her victory.
