Dakota Johnson Must Choose Between Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal in Dramatic Materialists Trailer

In the upcoming romantic comedy "Materialists," Dakota Johnson finds herself in a difficult love triangle with Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal. The film, helmed by writer-director Celine Song, will hit theaters on June 13 and follows Johnson, 35, as Lucy, an ambitious matchmaker in New York City.
Lucy’s professional life complicates when she meets prospective love interest Randy, portrayed by Pascal, 49, at an event. Coincidentally, she also reconnects with her ex, John, played by Evans, 43, that same evening. The newly released trailer for this highly anticipated A24 film showcases the growing tension between Evans and Pascal, both competing for Lucy’s heart.

John asks Lucy if she plans to marry Randy, who seems eager to propose. Meanwhile, this emotional turmoil begins to impact Lucy’s self-confidence in her career. The official film synopsis mentions, "A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex."
The film also features actors Marin Ireland, Louisa Jacobson, Zoe Winters, Sawyer Spielberg, and Dasha Nekrasova. "Materialists" marks Song’s second feature film, following her Oscar-nominated work, "Past Lives," which solidified her reputation as a successful playwright.
In addition to "Materialists," distributor A24 is releasing several appealing titles, including "On Becoming a Guinea Fowl" on March 7, "Opus" on March 14 featuring Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich, and "Death of a Unicorn," starring Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd, on March 28.

Chris Evans was last seen in "Red One" and "Deadpool & Wolverine" and will soon appear in Ethan Coen’s "Honey Don’t!" Pedro Pascal is making his debut as Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, in "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," scheduled for July 25. He is also set to return for a second season of HBO's "The Last of Us," premiering April 13. Meanwhile, Johnson is also working on a marriage comedy titled "Splitsville."
"Materialists" arrives in theaters on June 13.
