Dave Grohl Takes the Stage With Daughter Violet Grohl at FireAid Concert
On January 30, 2025, Dave Grohl turned the FireAid concert into a special family moment. During the benefit concert at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, Grohl, 56, performed alongside surviving Nirvana bandmates Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear, US Weekly reported. They were joined by several celebrity guests, who filled in for late frontman Kurt Cobain. St. Vincent, Kim Gordon, and Joan Jett delivered performances of Nirvana classics like "Breed," "School," and "Territorial Pissings." For the final song, Grohl’s daughter, Violet, 18, took the mic to sing "All Apologies."
"Violet Grohl, come on down," welcomed Novoselic, 59. Dressed in a black mini-dress, Violet greeted the audience, saying, "Hi, L.A." She showcased her vocal talents during the performance. Grohl supported her with backup vocals, expressing immense pride after the song ended.
Dave Grohl shares Violet, along with daughters Harper, 15, and Ophelia, 10, with his wife, Jordyn Blum. Violet is accustomed to performing with her father. She previously joined the Foo Fighters on stage at the Glastonbury Music Festival in June 2023. In May 2018, Violet also performed Adele’s "When We Were Young" with Grohl accompanying her on guitar during a benefit concert in Oakland, California.
The FireAid concert raised money for victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires that started earlier that month. Grohl's appearance with Violet was part of a lineup of various artists supporting this worthy cause.
This performance occurred shortly after Grohl’s personal revelations. Three months prior, he announced on Instagram that he welcomed a new baby daughter from outside his marriage. He stated, "I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her." Grohl further reflected on focusing on his existing family’s well-being during these challenging times.
Despite the difficulties, Violet and her sister Harper took steps to manage their online presence, deactivating their social media accounts briefly after the announcement. While Violet’s Instagram is public again, Harper’s account is private. Afternoon holidays reportedly remained a family time for Grohl and Jordyn, indicating their ongoing connection despite the recent challenges.
On Christmas Day, Violet wished her followers a "merry christmas x," sharing a festive video of lights. This joyful moment underscored their family's dedication to supporting one another through changes and difficult times.
