Dayle Haddon Revealed How Blake Lively Supported Her at Photo Shoot

Months before the passing of model Dayle Haddon at age 76, she participated in a Vogue editorial alongside actress Blake Lively.

In August, Haddon expressed her joy on Instagram, writing about the experience. "What a wonderful time working with the brilliant @bazluhrmann on his version of the classic film, To Catch a Thief for @voguemagazine September Issue," she shared. Haddon praised director Baz Luhrmann as "enthusiastic, creative, and inclusive — so much fun to work with!"

Haddon noted Lively’s charm, saying, "Loved working beside the absolutely delightful, funny, and mischievous @blakelively. Not only is Blake beautiful inside and out, but she is also generous to a fault, fixing my dress during takes, adjusting my fabulous @cartier jewels, and ensuring I was ‘shining’ during the shoot!" Haddon also acknowledged Vogue's Anna Wintour for bringing the project to life and featuring such "massive talents" as Lively and Hugh Jackman.

Sadly, Haddon passed away on Friday, December 27, just four months after the shoot. Her daughter, Ryan, paid tribute on Instagram, stating, "The bright light that is Dayle has dimmed in this Earthly realm. Shining somewhere as radiantly as ever where it’s most needed, I have no doubt." Ryan described her mother as powerful yet soft, deeply creative, and kind.

She elaborated, "In conversation, she could explore the deepest realms and also soar to great spiritual heights. She held many up, helping them see their hidden greatness and always built bridges to help others ascend. She was everyone’s greatest champion."

Ryan reflected on her mother’s legacy. "I always trust the timing of things. There are no accidents, and the way we enter and exit the world is mystical and unknowable," she noted. "She valued her soul’s evolution, so I know her journey here must have been complete. I honor her. I bow to her. I revere all the paths and adventures taken."

To honor Haddon, Ryan shared her appreciation: "Rest in Light, Mom. So grateful for this beautiful soul and to be her daughter this lifetime."

Tragically, Dayle Haddon was found unconscious at Ryan's Pennsylvania farmhouse due to a suspected carbon monoxide leak. The investigation into her death is ongoing.
