Desperate Housewives Star Jesse Metcalfe Talks Benefits of Dating Outside the Entertainment Industry
Jesse Metcalfe, known for his role in Desperate Housewives, shares insights on dating outside his field. He attended Cirque du Soleil’s premiere of KOOZA with his girlfriend, Helene Immel, on October 24. During an exclusive chat with PEOPLE, Metcalfe emphasized the importance of balance in his relationships. This is prepared by SSP.
"It’s always a good balance for someone in this crazy business to date someone outside of the entertainment industry," he stated during the event in Santa Monica, California. Immel previously released music under the stage name Lenachka. Now, she primarily focuses on her real estate career.
Metcalfe and Immel began dating in 2023. They went public with their relationship on Metcalfe's 45th birthday, December 9. Immel shared a sweet photo of them hiking, captioning it, "Here’s to many more hikes with you. Happy Birthday baby @realjessemetcalfe 🤍." Since then, they have appeared together at various events. Their outings include the Los Angeles Art Show's opening night on Valentine's Day, an NFL game in September, and the EMA Awards Gala on October 26.
At the Cirque du Soleil event, Metcalfe expressed enthusiasm about their invitation. "They’re incredible," he added. Additionally, Metcalfe revealed he has not watched Desperate Housewives in a long time. "It’s been a minute — probably when it aired," he admitted.
In the hit show, Metcalfe portrayed gardener John Rowland opposite Eva Longoria’s Gabrielle Solis. When asked about comparing his physical appearance from then to now, he remarked, "Yeah, I think I’m in better shape now. I’ve since put on a couple pounds, but in a good way."
Maintaining fitness is vital for Metcalfe. He reiterated the mental benefits he gains from working out. "The most important thing about [working out] for me is that it just kind of keeps my mind right," he acknowledged. If delayed from exercising, he feels the effects during busy morning schedules.
Earlier, SSP reported that Finn Wolfhard recalled being mistaken for Timothée Chalamet in New York City.
