Doechii Assists Will Smith and Tatyana Ali in Recreating "Fresh Prince" Dance

Will Smith recently reunited with his former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" costar Tatyana Ali, joined by Doechii, to recreate the show's iconic dance.
The "Anxiety" dance, first featured in the 90s sitcom, has gone viral on TikTok. Smith, Ali, and Doechii embraced the trend with their unique rendition. On March 14, Smith, 56, shared footage on TikTok showing Ali, 46, dancing while wearing headphones.
In the video, Smith sneaks up behind her and mimics her dance moves, reminiscent of original "Fresh Prince" scenes. Doechii also joins the dance fun, entering the room and moving in sync with Smith and Ali.
Smith humorously captioned the post, "Waited 35 years for this dance to trend."
This "Anxiety" dance trend has gained traction on TikTok over the past month. Smith acknowledged the hype, stating that he was impressed by various recreations of the iconic scene. "I’ve been watching y’all and every video has been better than the last! Love that track @Doechii. @Tatyana Ali remember this?" Smith responded on March 5, sharing a clip from the original episode that aired in 1990. Notably, the song on Ali's character's headphones was never revealed.
Doechii and Ali have previously participated in dance recreations. In one instance, Doechii asked, "Who else is forcing everyone to do this dance with them?" while sharing a clip of herself dancing. Ali also posted a video of her solo rendition of the moves at an airport.
Will Smith gained fame on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air," playing the character Will from 1990 to 1996 before starring in blockbuster films like "Independence Day" and "Bad Boys."
In his 2021 memoir, 'Will," he reflected on the challenging decision to end the show after its sixth season. "The storylines were becoming increasingly hokey, and it was difficult to maintain the ‘Freshness,’" he explained. He noted that a particular episode influenced his decision to conclude the series.

"Anyone who has ever been on a sitcom can tell you the episode when their show jumped the shark. Ours was season 5, episode 15, ‘Bullets Over Bel-Air,’ the one in which I got shot and Carlton started carrying a gun," Smith shared. He felt he had a promise to himself to elevate his career without getting caught in stagnation. "The show could easily sustain another season; this was my family; I loved them. But a movie career was now a viable option; I was at a crossroads."
