Drew Barrymore Addresses Meghan Markle as "Meghan Sussex" After Correction from Mindy Kaling

During her upcoming appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Drew Barrymore introduced Meghan Markle using the name "Meghan Sussex." This occurred shortly after Meghan corrected Mindy Kaling for referring to her by her maiden name in the Netflix series, With Love, Meghan.
In a preview obtained by People, Drew announced a rapid-fire segment called "The Fast Five with Meghan Sussex." This introduction highlighted Meghan’s adopted royal title, which she has held since marrying Prince Harry in 2018.
Meghan Markle, originally Rachel Meghan Markle, made her name notable in her Netflix show. In the second episode, she playfully reminded Mindy Kaling, "You know I’m Sussex now." Her emphasis on her new title reflects her identity within her family.

In the episode released on March 4, Meghan elaborated on what her name signifies, especially since she and Harry welcomed their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
"You have kids and you go, ‘No, I should share my name with my children,’" she expressed. Meghan acknowledged that this realization brought significant meaning to her title. She remarked, "It just means so much to go, ‘This is our family name, our little family name.’"
The surname originates from Harry and Meghan's wedding nearly seven years ago. The late Queen Elizabeth II granted them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Similar to other royals, they adopted this title as their family name, which deeply resonates with Meghan.
"It’s our shared name as a family," she explained in another interview with People released on March 3. Meghan admitted she realized how meaningful it would become only after having children. She further stated, "I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H, and I all have together. It means a lot to me."
