Drew Barrymore on Martha Stewart's Playful Gesture: ‘I Think Martha Really Does Like Me’
Drew Barrymore has opened up about her friendship with Martha Stewart after a playful incident last November, US Weekly reported. During an episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show," Stewart playfully pushed Barrymore away, a moment that quickly went viral. Barrymore clarified that the moment was all in good fun.
Barrymore said on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen," "I think she was just teasing. The internet misunderstood and ran with it." She expressed gratitude for their evolving relationship, stating, "I think Martha really does like me." This marks a significant change in her perception of Stewart, as she previously doubted the positivity of their dynamic.
In the same playful segment, Barrymore stroked Stewart's arm while discussing romantic partners' affection preferences. Stewart humorously rejected her touch, saying, "You’re the wrong gender."
Known for her engaging and close interview style on her show, Barrymore shared, "I sit ‘pupil to pupil’ with guests. I can’t actually control it." Valerie Bertinelli praised Barrymore’s authenticity, stating, "Do not apologize for being so authentic. Touch keeps us connected."
Barrymore reflected on her touchy nature during a December 2024 episode of her show. She admitted, "People warn me, saying, ‘Back off a little bit.’ And I’m like, ‘Why?’"
She suggested that her single status might fuel her desire for physical connection. "I don’t have that in my life, but I wouldn’t hold back from holding hands, hugging, or snuggling," she remarked.
