Drew Barrymore's Experience with Ghosting After a First Date

Drew Barrymore opened up about being ghosted after a recent first date. She shared her experience during an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show alongside co-host Ross Mathews and Valerie Bertinelli. The actress recalled going out to dinner with a man who had asked for her phone number earlier in March, PEOPLE reported.
After the date, Barrymore reached out with a text, saying, "Lovely to see you again the other night." They exchanged messages twice but then stopped communicating after he responded with "Haaaaa." Barrymore expressed her confusion, saying, "I haven't heard anything."
Reflecting on ghosting, Barrymore noted, "It does happen to all of us — the best of us." She emphasized that kind people typically wouldn't treat others in such a manner. "If you put a fishing pole in it, why are you not going to follow through?" she questioned.

Mathews chimed in, discussing the lightheartedness of the "hahahahaha" response. Barrymore joked about needing clearer communication when dating. She said, "I don’t want to date in a way that if I get four A's, I’m in." Barrymore expressed the importance of avoiding time-wasters in the dating scene.
Additionally, the actress emphasized self-kindness during her life at 50. "You deserve nothing less than goodness," she stated after discussing acceptance of oneself.
Barrymore has openly navigated her dating life and family since her split from ex-husband Will Kopelman, with whom she shares daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10. She illustrated the challenges of parenting without a solid roadmap in her talk show with Moon Unit Zappa, emphasizing her personal growth through these experiences.
