Dwayne Johnson Praises Daughters' Voiceover Work in Moana 2
On Thursday, November 21, Dwayne Johnson's wife, Lauren Hashian, posted an Instagram video featuring their daughters, Jasmine (8) and Tiana (6). The girls demonstrated voiceover skills for the upcoming Moana sequel. This is prepared by SSP.
The video starts with the girls dressed in matching outfits. They walk amazed into a recording booth at Walt Disney Animation Studios, taking in a large set piece inspired by their favorite franchise. The video then shows them joyfully reciting their lines while Johnson, who voices Maui, sits nearby. Their animated characters seem similar in age to the girls. Johnson admires their work, joking that they are "much better than daddy."
An official synopsis for Moana 2 reveals that the story picks up three years after the original film. Moana (voiced by Auli’i Cravalho) embarks on a grand journey. She seeks people beyond the shores of Motunui. The synopsis states, "Joined by Maui and a new crew of seafarers, Moana journeys through the far Oceania seas and into perilous, forgotten waters for an unprecedented adventure."
Johnson, also the father of Simone (23) with ex-wife Dany Garcia, discussed Moana 2 with Entertainment Tonight in February. He expressed his enthusiasm about the film, stating, "I can't wait for fans to see the film, the technology, the cutting-edge effects. If we're making a sequel to something beloved, we went for it."
He added, "The ocean is alive in Moana; it has a heartbeat and pulse. That’s a whole different thing. I can't wait."
Moana 2 hits theaters on Wednesday, November 27. Johnson will star in a live-action adaptation of the original film, set to premiere on July 10, 2026.
Earlier, SSP reported that Rod Stewart announced end of large-scale world tours.
