Dylan McDermott Shares How Pet Adoption Led to The Greatest Day of His Life

Dylan McDermott and his rescue dog, Otis, star in PETA’s latest pet adoption campaign. This campaign encourages people to "Adopt, Don't Shop" to ensure every needy pet can find a loving home.
The actor, known for his role in FBI: Most Wanted, features in a new video alongside Otis. The exclusive clip reveals the actors howling together, showcasing their vibrant connection. McDermott expresses, "Maybe the greatest day of my life is when this guy came into my life."
The chemistry between McDermott and Otis shines on screen. They have previously acted together in FBI: Most Wanted and LA to Vegas, highlighting their comfortable partnership. McDermott praises his scruffy companion, stating, "In both instances, he was terrific."
McDermott emphasizes his bond with Otis demonstrates the potential for amazing animals waiting in shelters for adoption. He states, "There are so many animals in need out there, who really want a home, who need a home." He asserts, "There's no reason to go to a pet store and buy an animal."

In the video, McDermott also shares Otis's remarkable rescue story. Otis was hit by a car before McDermott adopted him, requiring surgery for recovery. McDermott recalls, "When I saw him, I was floored. I sat in my car in the parking lot, and I was just like, 'I can't leave this guy.' Thank God I rescued him, and he rescued me."
Together with PETA, McDermott aims to inspire animal lovers to consider rescuing their next pets. He hopes to raise awareness about the over 70 million homeless animals in the U.S. seeking forever homes.
