Eddie Murphy’s Son Eric Is Engaged to Martin Lawrence’s Daughter Jasmin

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are about to become a family. Eric shared the joyful news by posting a heartfelt video on Instagram on Saturday, November 30. The video features a room adorned with candles, rose bouquets, and petals, enhancing the enchanting atmosphere for Jasmin’s reaction.
The engagement video features Eric on one knee, presenting a ring box. Jasmin immediately responds, "It’s beautiful. Oh my gosh," and after saying "yes," they share an affectionate kiss. In their joint Instagram post, the couple expressed, "We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny."
They continued their message, stating, "We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️. Special thank you to everyone who made this moment so beautiful!!"
While the exact start date of their romance remains unclear, they first shared their love on Instagram in June 2021. Eric posted sweet photos of them, emphatically stating, "Head over heels in LOVE with YOU," and used hashtags like "#MyOtherHalf" and "#ILoveYou."
Just weeks after, Jasmin paid tribute to Eric on his birthday. She referred to him as "my love," expressing, "I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side."
Jasmin is pursuing an acting career, following her father's path. She shared details about their meeting with InTouch Weekly in January 2022. Interestingly, it was not through their fathers’ connections but via her uncle that they first connected.
"We became really good friends because we bonded on many things," she recalled. Over time, their friendship blossomed into romance.
In June 2022, Martin Lawrence playfully mentioned the young couple's relationship on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
He joked about the possibility of their child being a "comedy super-baby" while confirming they let the couple navigate their romance independently. "We haven't discussed much; we just respect their thing," he said.
However, he had a humorous take on potential wedding plans. "I'm gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it," he quipped.
Eddie later humorously countered Martin's jest in an interview with Etalk. He noted, "That's not how it goes."
He added that he covered the wedding expenses for his daughter, Bria. "You have to do the same, Martin," Eddie quipped, reminding him of the traditional responsibility of the father-of-the-bride.
Eric showed his support for Martin during the latter's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in April 2023. In a thoughtful Instagram post, he praised Martin for his "unconditional love" for Jasmin.
