Flavor Flav Calls Taylor Swift 'One of the Most Important Artists of Our Time'

Flavor Flav recently shared his admiration for Taylor Swift. The rapper, who performed as Space Ranger on "The Masked Singer," expressed that Swift is an exceptional artist in today's music scene. Flav stated that no one matches her ability to throw a concert that resonates deeply with fans, PEOPLE reported.
"I enjoyed jumping in and out of that costume," Flav, 65, told. He noted that performing without taking off the mask was intense. He felt both proud and confident, saying, "I'm Flavor Flav and I can pull off anything." Flav debuted on the show, singing Swift’s "Bad Blood," impressing audiences with his performance.

On the show's March 12 episode, Flav performed "Cleaning Up the Town." However, he received the least votes and was unmasked. Flav reflected on his early elimination. "I was a little sad," he admitted, "But I got to knock something off my bucket list, and I had fun." His unmistakable voice was a significant giveaway, highlighted by his clock belt.
Flav found a sense of community in "The Masked Singer." "I'm maxing and relaxing like a coat in the closet," he said about his post-elimination feelings. He expressed disappointment about leaving the show but enjoyed surprising viewers. Host Nick Cannon seemed to recognize him early on, which filled Flav with pride. Flav recalled that Cannon was dancing to his old routines, giving an added hint about his identity.
His children are fans of the show, and he reached out to inform them about his participation. Flo Rida was among the first to commend him, recognizing his voice instantly. Their friendship goes back years, making communication natural and welcoming.

When judges guessed Flav’s identity as Tracy Morgan or Floyd Mayweather, he found their guesses amusing. Flav questioned the connection to Mayweather, portraying his surprise.
He mentioned calling Swift his bestie during his performance. Flav professed his deep support for Taylor, calling himself "King Swiftie." He noted the Swifties even named him, emphasizing his loyalty. He stated, "Taylor is one of the most important artists of our time." He believes her concerts are monumental events, saying she creates sensations "that hit the Richter scale."

Despite decades in the industry, Flav finds some aspects of himself still unknown. He revealed to PEOPLE that many are unaware of his singing abilities. "I’m one of the humblest people in the business," he claimed. He prefers personal interactions, appreciating handshake connections over bodyguards.
Fans often recognize him from reality television; however, Flav reminds them of his roots in rap with Public Enemy. He shared gratitude for the acknowledgment he's received for shaping reality TV, expressing his affection for fans.
