Flavor Flav Claims NBC Kicked Him Out of Backstreet Boys’ Dressing Room at Rockefeller Tree Lighting

Flavor Flav asserted that NBC security removed him from the Backstreet Boys' dressing room during the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

In a now-deleted X post on December 4, the 65-year-old hip-hop star stated, "I feel weird…I was invited to the Rockefeller Tree Lighting tonight. I was escorted to see my boys…the Backstreet Boys," he shared. Flav recounted that while backstage, security informed him that "@nbc does not want me in this area, and I need to leave."

He added, "At the same time, their social media woman approached and asked me to capture social content. What did I ever do to NBC or anyone? I only try to spread joy and love…and I believe I did that for NBC at the Olympics." After deleting his post, Flav later noted, "I deleted the tweet…but my spirit is broken."

Flav also posted a brief video expressing his joy about the tree lighting, saying, "Christmas in the city…ain’t nothing like the Rockefeller tree lighting. 🫶🏾" Us Weekly has since reached out to NBC for further comment.

Backstreet Boys Performance

During the Wednesday tree lighting, the Backstreet Boys joined host Kelly Clarkson for a live broadcast on NBC. They notably performed Nat King Cole’s classic, "The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You)." Other musical acts included Raye, Jennifer Hudson, and Little Big Town.
