Florence Pugh's Shocking Ancestral Discovery: A Tale of Two

Florence Pugh recently discovered a surprising piece of her heritage that left her speechless. The revelation occurred during her participation in the new National Geographic series, "No Taste Like Home," where host Antoni Porowski guides celebrities in uncovering their family histories through the lens of culinary traditions. This is prepared by SSP.
In an exclusive clip from the show, Porowski introduces Pugh to a previously unknown branch of her family tree, which includes great-great-great-grandparents and their descendants. The journey leads to the discovery of a namesake ancestor born on the 25th of November, 1882, who was coincidentally named Florence Pugh. An astonished Pugh reacted: "There’s already been — I feel quite emotional — there’s already been a Florence Pugh."
Pugh acknowledged that neither she nor her parents were aware of this familial connection. "My parents have no idea," she shared. Her mother is likely to be equally shocked, which might evoke a "scream" when she hears about the discovery. Pugh always believed she was named after the city of Florence and was unaware of this namesake connection in her family history.
This revelation forms part of Porowski's series, set to air with two episodes premiering Sunday, Feb. 23, at 9 p.m. on National Geographic. Celebrities like Awkwafina, Justin Theroux, and James Marsden are also featured, as they delve into their own ancestral stories through their ancestors' culinary habits and heritage.
