Frank Ferrer, Former Guns N' Roses Drummer, Opens Up About Exit After Nearly 20 Years

Frank Ferrer, who served nearly two decades as the drummer for the legendary band Guns N' Roses, has spoken publicly following his departure from the band. Announced officially by Guns N' Roses on March 19, 2025, Ferrer's departure was described as "amicable," and his subsequent statement expressed personal gratitude and a tinge of disappointment. This is prepared by SSP.
Using Instagram as a platform to connect with fans, Ferrer said, "The outpouring of love I have felt from the incredible fans and my peers over the past 24 hours has been tremendous. I will have immense gratitude and love always for Axl and the band while at the same time, disappointment that this chapter came to an end." His words resonated deeply with fans who have followed his impressive 19-year journey with the group.

Ferrer first joined Guns N' Roses in 2006, succeeding Bryan "Brain" Mantia, and ultimately became the band’s longest-serving drummer. During his tenure, he made significant contributions, both in world tours and on key albums, becoming an integral part of the ensemble alongside the reunited Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan. The band acknowledged his vital role in their farewell announcement, thanking him for his stability and artistic contributions.
Replacing Ferrer is Isaac Carpenter, former drummer of bands such as Loudermilk and AWOLNATION, who was announced as Ferrer’s successor shortly after his exit. Carpenter inherits the drums as Guns N’ Roses prepares for their highly anticipated tour, Because What You Want & Want You Get Are Two Completely Different Things, which kicks off on May 1 in Incheon, South Korea. Despite the transition, Ferrer's mark on the band remains indelible, as the new lineup seeks to capture the high bar he set.
Ferrer’s legacy as a committed drummer continues to carry weight among fans and the music industry. Looking forward, he expressed a heartfelt wish to reconnect with fans and bandmates in the future. His tenure with Guns N' Roses not only stands as a testament to his dedication to the craft but also leaves an impressive footprint on rock history as the longest-serving drummer of the band. As fans embrace this new era with Isaac Carpenter, they hold closely the electrifying performances and the unique spirit Ferrer brought to the stage.
