Gal Gadot Opens Up About Life-Threatening Health Scare During Pregnancy

Gal Gadot recently opened up about a serious health issue she faced before the birth of her fourth daughter with her husband, Jaron Varsano.
"I had a huge scare. All of a sudden, I realized what it means to be scared to death," Gadot, 39, shared during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 10. She highlighted that she was "very pregnant" at that time. She believes sharing her story is crucial for others who might experience similar issues, saying, "If someone out there hears my story, she’s going to get checked."

Gadot described her experience with "huge" brain clots, stating, "Like three, I had three. When I do something, I do it all the way." For three weeks, she suffered from "major headaches" and visited several doctors. Initially, they misattributed her symptoms to migraines tied to her hormones.
Gadot emphasized the importance of advocating for one’s health: "Our bodies are always communicating with us. We just need to listen and get checked. If anything, you’re going to overcheck yourself. But it’s better to overcheck than undercheck."
After enduring "crazy headaches," her mother prompted her to seek an MRI. Upon doing so, they discovered "this horrible thing," leading to her urgent hospitalization where her baby was delivered immediately. Gadot underwent a thrombectomy.

She praised the "amazing" team at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, asserting they "saved" her life. "Just love yourself and check yourself. Be on top of your health," she advised viewers.
In December 2024, Gadot revealed her diagnosis of a "massive blood clot" while in her eighth month of pregnancy that year. She remarked about her newborn daughter, Ori, writing on Instagram, "Her name, meaning ‘my light,’ wasn’t chosen by chance." Before her surgery, she told Jaron that Ori would be the light awaiting her at the end of the tunnel.
As for their family of six, Gadot joyfully shared that they are "great" and "exhausted." Life at home, she noted, is "messy and loud," calling Ori "a little caterpillar."
"We experience every hormone possible. It’s all happening, different phases. God bless my husband," she quipped, explaining that they got a male dog so Jaron could have a buddy.
