Gavin Rossdale Adopts a New Dog, Kaya: 'We Love Him'

Gavin Rossdale welcomed a new canine companion, adding joy to his family. The Bush frontman shared the news on Instagram on March 25. He introduced Kaya, a pup adopted from a shelter in Los Angeles County.

"Please meet KAYA - the latest addition to our family," Rossdale wrote. He mentioned that they had brought Kaya home 10 days ago. "What a vibe getting to know each other. The boys are thrilled," he added. His three sons—Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11—who are children from his previous marriage to Gwen Stefani, are excited about the new arrival. Rossdale and Stefani divorced in 2015 after nearly 12 years together.

"We love him. He’s home.🖤," he expressed in his post. Rossdale’s girlfriend, Xhoana X, commented as well, saying, "We love him so much! 🖤." He included three adorable photos of Kaya. One shows the black pup and his owner outside a house.

Additionally, Rossdale shared candid images of Kaya in his new environment. One photo captures the pup resting on a light couch, while another shows Kaya alert on an outdoor deck. Kaya’s arrival comes after the loss of Rossdale’s cherished dog, Chewy McGregor, in January 2024.

Following Chewy’s death, Rossdale expressed his heartache. "Its been a rough few days. Me and the fam are pretty heartbroken," he shared. He noted how the absence felt significant, stating that the house lacked its typical energy.

Rossdale remembered Chewy fondly. "He was my absolute little furry bestie," he wrote. "Can’t stop thinking about him even if I look like I’m doing something else. He was the one there through all my hardest and loneliest times."

In a poignant sentiment, he added, "Love your pets. Love your people. Love yourself better. 🖤." On the one-year anniversary of Chewy’s passing, Rossdale posted a heartfelt tribute. Accompanying a selfie of him with Chewy, he wrote, "One year today 💔 sweetest boy."
