Grimes Opens Up About Split from Elon Musk Amid Azealia Banks Feud

Grimes asserted that she was the one who ended her relationship with Elon Musk. The singer, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher, made this claim following a Tweet from Azealia Banks posted via X on December 26.

Banks, referencing a long-standing feud between them from 2018, reshared a meme showing herself and Grimes as rival characters from the musical Wicked. In her post, Banks criticized Grimes for clinging to their past conflict. She stated, "Girl, the way you are still trying to hold out on some weird a– innocent bullsh–t years later after you got dumped, cheated on".

Banks further labeled Grimes as exhibiting "PEAK white female delusion" and remarked, "Get over urself," urging Grimes to stop mentioning her.

Grimes defended her actions, declaring, "It’s just a funny joke, bro. Not trying to paint u as a villain." She clarified that she did not get "dumped" by Musk. Instead, she pointed out, "I bounced. My amazing baby is asleep in my bed beside me. I’m in love. No regrets. Life is as beautiful as u want it to be".

She continued by complimenting Banks, saying, "Ur insanely talented. Even after all this, I want u to win. God bless Mlady".

Grimes and Musk had a four-year relationship before their 2022 breakup. They are currently involved in a custody dispute over their three children: son X Æ A-Xii, 4, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and son Techno Mechanicus, 2.

Grimes initially confirmed their split through a post on X, which referenced a Vanity Fair article detailing their relationship. In March 2022, she stated, "Me and E have broken up *again* since the writing of this article haha. But he’s my best friend and the love of my life. My life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now." Grimes praised the article, adding, "I think Devin wrote that part of the story rly well. Sique – peace out".

In addition to his children with Grimes, Musk has six other children from different relationships.
