Hailee Steinfeld Tells Why She Keeps Her Relationship With Fiancé Private

Hailee Steinfeld explained her decision to keep her engagement to Josh Allen private, mentioning that it makes their relationship more special. She believes that knowing much of her life is in the public eye motivates her to cherish the private moments.

In an interview with Who What Wear, published on February 19, she stated, "When you realize that so much is already out there...you learn to cherish the little that isn't. It just makes things extra special, and it's just for you."

Steinfeld, 28, and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen began dating in May 2023 but revealed their engagement publicly in November 2024. They delighted fans by sharing details of the heartfelt proposal with a social media post featuring Josh asking Hailee to marry him. The engagement took place amidst candles and flowers at sunset, creating a romantic backdrop.

Later, Hailee introduced Josh to her followers via her newsletter, Beau Society. Josh expressed his feelings in a heartfelt message, saying, "It feels unbelievable to be engaged to someone who is so special and loving... I can keep going if you want me to."

Hailee debuted her engagement ring while attending the NFL Honors with Josh in New Orleans on February 6, where he received the MVP award.

She is also ready to share more about their special day. "I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good," she shared. "We have these photos that we'll have and cherish for the rest of our lives."

Hailee's joyous memories of the proposal solidify its magic. "We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical," she added with emotion. "That's the word."
