Wilson was in Gisborne, New Zealand, at the time of his passing, attending the Rhythm and Vines Festival. Authorities reported responding to a "sudden death" on January 1. The police stated, "The death is not suspicious and has been referred to the Coroner," but did not share specific details regarding the cause.
Wilson embarked on his MMA career in 2020 and held a professional record of 4 wins and 3 losses, according to The New Zealand Herald. His last match occurred in October, and on November 14, he posted on Instagram about having surgery on his left arm. "Surgery done 🦾," he wrote, adding, "Be back asap."
