Heartwarming Moment: Halle Bailey’s Son Calls Her ‘Momma’ While Watching 'The Little Mermaid'

On March 5, the 24-year-old actress shared a delightful video of Halo watching her in the 2023 live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid, PEOPLE reported.
In the clip, posted on her Instagram Stories and X, Halo sits on a bed playing with a toy stethoscope as his mother's film is on in the background. As the film's music builds, Halo turns to the television and shouts, "Momma," which makes Bailey laugh.
With his focus on the film, Bailey captures the scene and asks, "That's momma?!" Halo remains glued to the screen. He grins widely as the scene unfolds.
"Momma!" he exclaims again, and Bailey responds, "Yeah, that's momma. That's momma." This heartfelt moment left Bailey emotional. She captioned the video, "Guys I’m crying he actually knows Ariel is me."

Bailey played Ariel in the Disney remake based on the animated film from 1989. She was announced as the film's star in July 2019. The movie grossed $95.5 million across 4,320 screens in North America during its opening weekend, per the Associated Press, following its release in May 2023. The total worldwide earnings reached $569.6 million.
Halo was born just months later. Bailey shares the toddler with ex-DDG. She announced his birth in January 2024.
"Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son... welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥️," she shared alongside a photo of his hand on Instagram.

Last month, Bailey released another sweet video of Halo joyfully bouncing while watching her song "Back and Forth." Chloe Bailey stated that Halo is already beginning to mimic his famous mother.
"He's singing and dancing a lot to 'Gracie's Corner,'" she told PEOPLE, referring to the popular YouTube children's show. "He’s making beats with his kids' beats machine."
Proudly, Chloe added, "On my MPC [Music Production Center] at home, he was banging on it. Halle and I were shooting, and he was making beats on another MPC. That's going to be my little mini-producer, my little mini-me."
