Heidi Montag Shares Heartbreak After Her Home Is Destroyed by Los Angeles Fires
Heidi Montag Pratt opened up about her heartache after losing her home in the Pacific Palisades fire, PEOPLE reported. Tears streamed down her face on Wednesday, January 8, as she detailed her experience in a TikTok video.
"I just really want to go home," the 38-year-old explained while holding her two-year-old son, Ryker. She missed her belongings and comfortable living space. "I want to see all my stuff and sit on my couch. I’m so homesick," she expressed. Her tweet succinctly shared her sentiment, saying, "Missing home."
Montag, who shares her son Gunner, 7, with her husband Spencer, described the panic when packing for evacuation. "The craziest thing when packing for a fire is that your brain just freaks out," she stated. Deciding what to grab was stressful and exhausting.
The television personality recalled the situation: "What do I need? What do I not need? It’s so overwhelming." Shockingly, she managed to leave with only two shirts and two pairs of jeans.
"There’s so much more for the kids," she mentioned, acknowledging prioritizing their safety. She realized that leaving behind belongings felt hard because part of her hoped to return soon.
Montag reflected on her family’s safety and wished the best for everyone affected by the fires. "Just praying for everybody else who’s going through this, and all my friends and loved ones," she stated. Her focus remained on gratitude, emphasizing they are healthy and together despite their loss.
"It just comes in waves," she noted while expressing her faith. "God uses everything for good. I don’t know how or why but I know He uses everything for good."
Recently, Spencer shared footage of their home engulfed in flames. In the recording, he expressed disbelief over the disaster. Later, Montag also appeared visibly upset, revealing her sorrow alongside her son, who comforted her during this difficult moment.
The tragedy didn’t stop with Montag. Stephanie Pratt, Spencer’s sister, announced that their parents' home was also destroyed. "No info on the status of mine yet. The whole town is flat. It’s burning two football fields every six seconds. 0% contained," she revealed while sharing her grief.
To date, over 80,000 people have been displaced due to these devastating Los Angeles fires. The unfortunate situation extends beyond the Pratt-Montag family as celebrities like Anna Faris, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, and Paris Hilton have also lost their homes.
