Here Is Why Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. Ordered Pizza for Thanksgiving
Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. had a memorable Thanksgiving abroad. During the December 10 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, Gellar shared details of their holiday celebration. The family spent the occasion in Australia, where Prinze Jr. was working on the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer. This is prepared by SSP.
Gellar, 47, noted the advantages of being in a warm climate. She explained their dinner plans involved Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the film's director. "Freddie was working, and we had great plans. We were in a car with my daughter Charlotte, who is 15... Rocky and Freddie were in another car," Gellar recalled. Unfortunately, rainy weather in Australia caused unforeseen delays. "It rains in Australia. But this rain seemed to shut the world down."
The couple faced considerable trouble when inclement weather trapped them in a tunnel for nearly an hour. "Tunnels don’t freak me out… but once we finally got out, it was so late. I couldn’t even eat anymore. So we ordered pizza," she explained. When host Kelly Ripa mentioned her love for having pizza on Thanksgiving, Gellar responded, "There’s nothing wrong with pizza, ever." Gellar also praised Australian food, stating, "They do pretty much good everything. The coffee is out of control in Australia."
Prinze Jr. will reprise his role as Ray Bronson in the upcoming reboot set for release on July 18, 2025. However, Gellar shared with PEOPLE that she would not be returning as Helen Shivers due to her character's death in the original film. "My best friend (Jennifer Kaytin Robinson) is directing it, so I joke that I have an unofficial job as continuity," she commented. Gellar now helps ensure character consistency while also advising on plot-related inquiries, asserting, "I do have kind of an unofficial job title."
Earlier, SSP wrote that Maze Runner and Flight Night star Dexter Darden engaged.
