Hoda Kotb Announces New Project Following Departure from ‘Today’ Show

Hoda Kotb announced her new book, "Jump and Find Joy," during the "Pop Start" segment on March 10. This exciting revelation comes two months after she departs from the "Today" show, US Weekly reported.
In a video message, Kotb explained the inspiration behind the title. She reflected, "Everyone stands on the edge and thinks, ‘Should I jump? Should I try?’" This sentiment resonated with her own choice to leave "Today," making her feel anxious about the leap.
Her close friend Maria Shriver played a significant role in encouraging her decision. Kotb recalled Shriver's words, "You’ve jumped your whole life. You once moved across cities, entered relationships, and became a mother. So, don’t tell me you can’t jump." This validation gave Kotb the courage to take the risk.

The idea of "jumping" became a powerful theme for Kotb. She included stories of respected people in her life who faced fears but succeeded. "Viola Davis and Sarah Jakes are examples of individuals who imagined themselves on the other side," she noted. "You have one life, so don’t hold back."
The book, "Jump and Find Joy," will be available in bookstores on September 23 and is currently up for preorder.
This book marks Kotb's first official project after leaving her job as co-anchor on "Today" with Savannah Guthrie. In January, she also talked about a wellness app she aims to develop. She mentioned that it will feature retreats, podcasts, and activities that elevate personal growth.
"This will be transformative," she stated, emphasizing that it is more than just a vacation with friends. Kotb confirmed the app is expected to launch in spring.

In an interview, Kotb revealed plans to work as an NBC special correspondent. She will still make appearances on "Today" while covering the upcoming Olympic Games, ensuring her presence within the news landscape.
"I want to be a supporting character on an established team," she explained. Kotb also plans to continue her podcast, "Making Space," providing insight into her ongoing media journey.
Last month, she told Us Weekly she felt no regret about leaving "Today." "I don’t have any fear missing out. It has been love," she emphasized. "My eyes are set forward."
