Hoda Kotb Reunites with Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie After ‘Today’ Exit
Hoda Kotb left the Today show but maintains her friendship with former co-hosts. On January 22, Kotb, 60, posted a photo on Instagram featuring herself with Jenna Bush Hager, 43, and Savannah Guthrie, 53. The trio looked happy while dining together.
In her caption, Kotb wrote, "I love Wednesdays!! @savannahguthrie @jennabhager. Also remember when you had that big goodbye party and now I am like…… HIIIIIIIIIIII!" Jenna Bush Hager quickly shared the moment on Instagram Stories, declaring, "Love these babes." Savannah Guthrie also posted the photo, captioning it as a "Reunion."
This friendly gathering took place shortly after Kotb's departure from NBC's morning show announced on January 10.
After Kotb’s exit, Today With Hoda & Jenna transitioned to Today With Jenna & Friends. Bush Hager will lead this new format with various celebrity guest hosts until a permanent replacement for Kotb is found.
"Whoever sits in this seat is going to have the easiest job in the world ‘cause they’re sitting next to you," Kotb mentioned in September 2024 during an episode of Hoda & Jenna, when discussing her departure. "I mean, the only thing they have to do is not laugh so hard they pee their pants. That’s it. You are this bright light, you always have been, and it’s your turn," Kotb added, to which Bush Hager responded, "If I’m bright, it’s because I’m sitting in your glow."
Despite leaving the show, Kotb remains engaged with television news. In a January 9 interview with Page Six, she announced her role as a special correspondent for Today and NBC. She also signed on to cover the next two Olympics.
Kotb has ambitions for a wellness company and app, discussed during her January 6 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. She explained that the wellness program would include retreats and a podcast. "It’s something where, when you leave, you’ll go like, ‘Oh my gosh, I feel transformed,’" Kotb shared at the time.
A source disclosed to Us Weekly that Kotb’s future earnings could surpass her past salary on Today. "Now that she’s not full-time at NBC, Hoda’s going to work with brands and earn for endorsements," the source stated. Additionally, she could potentially make hundreds of thousands of dollars for speaking engagements focused on transformative life stages, such as "changing your life at 60."
