Hooters Waitress Discusses Pregnancy's Impact on Tips

Gabrielle Harlan, a pregnant waitress at Hooters, shared how her baby bump has positively influenced her tips. She noted that since her pregnancy progress, her earnings have increased significantly while she wears her maternity uniform.

Harlan became an online sensation by revealing the impact of her pregnancy on her job. She explained that after her belly started showing, the tips she received improved remarkably. In one comment on her TikTok video, she recounted a customer praising her effort. He mentioned she worked harder than any pregnant waitress he knew, tipping over 50 percent despite doing what she described as "the bare min."

To ensure his drink was refilled regularly, Harlan displayed remarkable customer service. At 23 weeks along, she switched from Hooters' traditional white tee and orange shorts to a low-cut black T-shirt and matching shorts. This change was part of her maternity wear curated by the restaurant. Harlan noted that she is not alone in this transition.

In another comment, she mentioned there are three other pregnant staff members, with several more expected to be postpartum in about five to six months. While modeling her new work attire, she emphasized the support for women that Hooters encourages.

This uniform change aligns with Hooters' efforts to create a "more accommodating and inclusive image policy." A company statement addressed how they continuously update the appearance of Hooters Girls. It asserted that staff can choose between traditional uniforms or newer options. This provides flexibility in selecting styles of shorts that align with personal body types and images.
