How RHOA Star Angela Oakley Became a Self-Made Millionaire Without the Help of NBA Husband Charles Oakley

Angela Oakley, a new cast member of Season 16 of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' (RHOA), is making waves. The show airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. Angela values her independence and career growth, despite being married to basketball legend Charles Oakley.

In a recent episode, Angela introduced her family. She mentioned her husband, Charles, who played in the NBA for teams like the New York Knicks and the Chicago Bulls. "Charles cooks; he cleans. He’s like a dream come true!" Angela stated. They share a 7-year-old daughter, Arleigh. Both have children from earlier relationships as well. Angela has a 24-year-old daughter, Amari, and an 11-year-old son, Aven. Charles has a son named Charlie Jr.
Angela shared her touching love story. "We met in Chicago at a party," she recalled. "We exchanged numbers, but I didn’t hear from him for another 10 years." Fate brought them back together as neighbors in the same condominium. "I feel like our relationship was destined to happen," she added.
Entrepreneurial Success
Angela revealed she runs a financial consulting firm. "I am a self-made millionaire," she declared. "There’s not a dollar I don’t want. I bought five properties that I am currently renovating and trying to sell. I won’t let go until it’s finished. If I do, I feel like I’m giving up on everything I’ve worked for the past three years."

Angela and Charles enjoy a dynamic filled with affection and humor. "Why do you keep slamming dishes?" she joked while he cooked. This occurred as they discussed something from the show.
"That’s what I do when I’m in the kitchen!" Charles responded, playfully dismissing the topic. "I don’t wanna hear this story." He advised her, "Let them talk about you, don't talk about them."
Angela opened up about the secret to loving a man like Charles. "It’s about letting him be who he is," she explained in her confessional. "Sometimes, we get in our own heads, and he can’t hear me, and I can't hear him."
Angela's self-awareness has grown through therapy. "Initially, I wanted him to change," she admitted. "Then, I realized that I have flaws too." Their relationship exemplifies understanding, acceptance, and growth.
