"She tells me to take my hair down," Glazer explains. The little girl wants their hairstyles to match as she sports curly hair. "She says, ‘Take it down! Take it down!’ And then she goes, ‘Zhuzh it!’"
Glazer humorously responded, "You’re telling me to zhuzh my hair? I’ve been zhuzhing it since before you were born, dude!" This glimpse into their everyday interactions reveals the young girl’s growing creativity.
The comedian shared her daughter already demonstrates a "very creative" spirit. "She’s making jokes and dancing. Her spirit is alive," Glazer mentioned during the interview.
In discussing her recent standup tour, "Ilana Glazer: Human Magic," Glazer noted her ability to balance family time with her comedy career. "The process was the most fun I’ve ever had doing standup," she stated.
She ensured the tour worked around family and their shared moments together. "Standup typically happens on weekends, which is family time," she clarified, explaining the change in scheduling. Their discussions about the logistics of the timing led to her decision of including Thursdays as show days. Glazer remarked, "You’re a genius! That’s how I planned the tour."
Through performing in 48 cities with 52 shows, Glazer enjoyed every moment. "It was the funniest standup I’ve done, and I had so much fun," she remarked.
On motherhood, Glazer feels grateful for her experiences, describing her situation as "mind-blowing." She acknowledged parenting’s challenges without complaints and noted the help often available within her community.
"There’s a visible community for working moms. I have to remember to take help," she admitted. Glazer sometimes struggles to accept assistance, highlighting the importance of support from others.
