Jaime King Addresses Lawsuit over $42,000 in Rent

Jaime King has spoken out regarding her legal issues, especially concerning a lawsuit from her former landlord. The landlord alleges she owes about $42,580 in back rent.
King, known for her role in Sin City, discussed the situation on March 24. She shared with Us Weekly, "The situation with my landlord was resolved privately. It’s disappointing — but not surprising — to see someone try to exploit this moment for attention. I am currently focused on what matters most: my children."
The actress is dedicated to her sons, James, 12, and Leo, 10. They are children of her former husband, Kyle Newman.
Recently, a California judge mandated King to undergo a six-month rehabilitation program. This includes weekly testing and aftercare alongside a 26-week parenting program as part of a new custody arrangement with Newman.

Newman, who was married to King for 13 years, now has sole primary custody of the children. King can only have supervised visitation three times a week while she meets the requirements outlined by the court.
This decision follows King's filing for divorce nearly five years ago. During the process, she issued a domestic violence prevention petition, claiming that Newman staged an intervention despite her not having substance abuse issues.
In her earlier petition, King noted that she agreed to attend a treatment facility voluntarily. However, she was released a few days later, having tested negative for drugs and alcohol.
In response, Newman denied King's allegations of abuse. He described her as a "chronic drug addict and alcoholic" who refuses to seek necessary treatment.
While King criticized his claims as a "false narrative", Newman maintained that his actions were guided by concern for their children's well-being.
Since their separation, Newman has welcomed two additional children with singer Cyn — son Etienne, 4, and daughter Beatrix, 19 months.
