Jamie Foxx Remembers Late Sister in Touching Instagram Post
Jamie Foxx recently paid tribute to his late sister, DeOndra Dixon, by sharing heartfelt messages on Instagram to mark the anniversary of her passing. In his emotional post dated October 19, he expressed deep love and remembrance, sharing photos of DeOndra and cherished moments they shared as siblings. Foxx's moving tribute conveyed that his sister continues to be a source of joy and guidance from above, stating, "Not a day goes by that we don’t think about you... Miss you sis. I love you." This is prepared by SSP.
DeOndra Dixon, who lived with Down syndrome, was much more than her condition. She passed away in 2020 but left behind a legacy of light that continues to shine through Foxx and his family, who described her as "a bright light" to all who knew her. Born with an innate passion for dance, she participated in the Special Olympics from the seventh grade and later served as an ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. After graduating high school in 2002, she moved to California to be with Foxx and their other sister, Deidra.
Dixon dedicated herself to her love of dance, once declaring her ambition to be a professional dancer. She showcased her talent in Foxx's "Blame It" music video and accompanied him to events like the 2020 Grammy Awards. Throughout her lifetime, her brother Foxx championed her and her dreams, and he continues to advocate for the Down syndrome community.
In her memory, Foxx and his family established the DeOndra Dixon Research Fund in November 2020. This initiative focuses on supporting African Americans with Down syndrome, a group frequently overlooked. Reflecting on her influence, Foxx described how DeOndra grounded his perspective on life’s true value beyond materialism, teaching him to savor life's simple pleasures like love and happiness, epitomized by her desire to "live, dance, and love."
