Jeopardy! Player Roger Craig Confirms Marriage to Fellow Show Champ Julia Collins

Roger Craig, a contestant on Jeopardy!, credits the show for his marriage to former champion Julia Collins. During an episode aired on Friday, February 21, Craig shared his exciting news with host Ken Jennings.

"At the All-Star Games, I reconnected with Julia Collins," he revealed. "I first met her in New York around 10 years ago, and now we’re married." Jennings expressed his delight, declaring them a "Jeopardy power couple" and offering congratulations.

Craig described their relationship as "the best thing that’s ever happened to me." When questioned about Collins' absence from the invitational tournament, Craig explained that she couldn’t attend this time. "We would love to," he noted. "She wished she could be here, but logistics didn’t align. Hopefully, next time."

Craig made his debut on Jeopardy! in 2010. He achieved a stunning single-day record of $77,000 on the second day of his run, surpassing Jennings' previous record of $75,000. After seven days on the show, Craig lost to Jelisa Castrodale but garnered $231,200 overall.

Julia Collins first appeared on Jeopardy! in 2014 and had a remarkable 20-day run from April 21 to May 30, amassing over $400,000 in winnings.

In recent headlines, the show has had both uplifting and controversial moments. In November 2024, Jeopardy! faced backlash after contestant Heather Ryan responded to a sexist clue. On the October 28, 2024 episode, Ryan encountered a clue in the "Complete the Rhyming Phrase…" category: "Men seldom make passes…"

Ryan answered, "girls who wear glasses." Jennings quickly apologized, noting the discomfort that followed. In a subsequent interview with Binghamton University’s student newspaper on November 4, Ryan stated, "It was definitely an odd choice." She emphasized the clue's potential impact on girls in middle school who avoid glasses.

Ultimately, Ryan finished second in the episode, losing by $1 to Ian Taylor, a food sales representative from Cleveland, Ohio. Despite the controversy around the clue, Ryan shared positive sentiments, stating, "I had a great time. Everybody there was very welcoming."
