Jesy Nelson's Update on High-Risk Twin Pregnancy: 'We Are So, So Lucky'

Jesy Nelson marked Mother’s Day in the U.K. by sharing encouraging news. The emergency surgery she underwent for her complicated twin pregnancy was successful.
Earlier this year, the Little Mix singer, 33, and her boyfriend, rapper Zion Foster, announced they were expecting identical twins. Soon after, Nelson revealed the frightening news that the unborn babies are "living off one placenta." This is a high-risk condition known as pre-stage TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome).

On Sunday, March 30, Nelson provided a positive update through an Instagram video. "We just wanted to give you guys an update, as we know it’s been a while," she stated. "I don’t know if you can see, but we are still in hospital. I’ve been recovering, but we have some amazing news. The TTTS has cleared up. The operation was a success, which is just absolutely incredible. We are so, so lucky to have the most amazing doctors."
Despite this good news, Nelson will remain hospitalized for careful monitoring as her due date is still further away. "Basically, my cervix is very, very short," she explained while cradling her pregnant belly. "I can’t leave the hospital because my waters could break at any point. I’m still very, very early. I can’t leave until I’m a certain amount of weeks, so every week we’re just like, ‘Please, please, please, stay in there!’"
Foster, 26, expressed gratitude in their situation. "One week at a time, but we’re in such a blessed position to even be able to make this video."
Foster also mentioned that he will run the London Marathon at the end of April to raise money for the Twins Trust. "We spoke with them and heard about the amazing work they do for twins and their families," he stated. "With Jess going through her situation, I feel I’m not really carrying the babies, so this is my way of saying, ‘I’m gonna throw myself in the deep end!’"
In a previous emotional moment, Nelson shared that she and Foster, who have been together for over three years, were "hoping and praying for the best." She commented, "We feel so blessed that we’ve been given twins. It’s just really sad that it comes with these complications we had no idea about."
