Jimmy Kimmel Shares Joyful Update on Son Billy After Health Challenges

Jimmy Kimmel told E! News that his son, Billy Kimmel, is "in perfect health." The 7-year-old recently underwent his third open heart surgery in 2024, and his father stated, "He's doing great."
At Keep Memory Alive's Power of Love Gala on February 22, Jimmy expressed his pride. He noted, "Billy is about to turn 8. He's very healthy." This milestone has filled the late-night host's heart with gratitude.
Jimmy, 57 years old, felt honored to participate in the fundraiser benefiting the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Nevada. He previously appreciated the support he received during Billy’s medical journey. He and wife Molly McNearney also have a 10-year-old daughter, Jane Kimmel. Additionally, Jimmy has children Katie Kimmel, 33, and Kevin Kimmel, 31, with ex-wife Gina Maddy.

"It’s very special when people offer to pray for your son," he shared. Those words resonate deeply when it’s personal. He added, "It’s tremendous to know there’s a place at the forefront of solving these brain-related diseases."
Billy was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect shortly after his birth in 2017. Surgery was required immediately, leading to his first operation when he was only a few hours old. "It was the longest three hours of my life," Jimmy recalled during a May 2017 episode of his show. Doctors anticipated more surgeries in the future.
Billy completed his second heart surgery in December of that year. His most recent operation took place in May 2023, where a new valve was inserted into his heart.
Jimmy reflected on the experience: "Walking around this hospital, meeting parents at their most vulnerable, and seeing children in pain is humbling."
He expressed gratitude by thanking those who offered prayers and positive energy during difficult times.
