Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas Support Brother Nick Jonas at Broadway’s The Last Five Years

Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren made their return to Broadway with The Last Five Years. This production officially opened on Sunday, April 6, for a limited engagement of just 14 weeks.
Jonas and Warren began preview performances on Tuesday, March 18, at the Hudson Theatre in New York City. They received enthusiastic support from Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas. The brothers shared a joyful moment on stage after the show, posing for happy photos together.

Nick and Adrienne took their initial bows to a standing ovation from an excited audience. Following the applause, they shared a celebratory high-five and a hug, as seen in an Instagram video. Director Whitney White then brought out three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, the composer of The Last Five Years. This moment marked the first Broadway show for Brown, despite the piece premiering in 2001.
"Cheers to Jason for the Broadway debut of The Last Five Years," White said, as she presented him with flowers.

The musical explores the end of a relationship between a rising novelist named Jamie, portrayed by Nick, and a struggling actress named Cathy, played by Warren. Their tales unfold across distinct timelines: Jamie's story is presented chronologically, while Cathy's is told in reverse.
"Putting the whole production together has been an absolute joy," Nick shared during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "We’re having a great time."
Warren praised Nick, stating, "He's such an incredible teammate and hard worker. He challenges me every day." Nick characterized playing Jamie as "a dream role," but acknowledged feeling "very intense" about the experience.
"It’s natural to feel a little nervous," he remarked on The Last Five Years' Instagram. "But it’s a big show with fans worldwide."
Since its debut, The Last Five Years has secured prominence in the musical theater world. The show achieved renewed success largely due to its acclaimed Off-Broadway cast recording. Songs like "Nobody Needs to Know," "Still Hurting," "If I Didn't Believe in You," and "The Next Ten Minutes" have become fan favorites.
The musical had its Off-Broadway revival in 2013, featuring Adam Kantor and Betsy Wolfe, before a film adaptation arrived in 2015. Notable performances continued, including a one-night concert in 2016 with Joshua Henry and Cynthia Erivo leading. A London production also featured stars like Jonathan Bailey and Samantha Barks.

The revival officially opens on April 6, with a limited schedule running until June 22. This production's announcement came nearly 25 years after Brown penned the first song for The Last Five Years on June 15, 1999. He expressed confidence that the show would eventually reach Broadway.
For Nick and Warren, this return marks a personal milestone. Nick was last seen in 2012’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, while Warren is a 2021 Tony Award winner for her portrayal of Tina Turner in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical.
