Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope Reunite: A Love Rekindled
Joey Lawrence and Samantha Cope appear happier than ever after some challenging months. The 48-year-old actor expressed his admiration for Cope on his Instagram Story dated December 26. He wrote, "I am the luckiest husband alive," while sharing a fan's post featuring Cope from Marry Christmas, their recent film together.
Lawrence included the hashtag, "Mywifeisbeautiful," emphasizing his affection. They later posted a series of romantic beach photos on a joint Instagram account. The caption read, "Keep some room in your heart for the unimaginable." Lawrence reiterated his feelings, commenting, "I am the luckiest man alive đ¤â¨."
The couple confirmed their reconciliation through social media posts in December 2024, five months after Cope initially filed for divorce. Recently, she pursued the dismissal of her divorce petition, marking a significant change in their relationship status.
On December 4, Lawrence shared two romantic photos promoting their film, including one where they shared a kiss. He wrote, "I am beyond grateful đ¤I am beyond blessedđ¤ My heart is so full â¤ď¸." Despite their earlier split, Lawrence and Cope seem to have rekindled their connection.
In August, Cope filed for divorce after two months of separation. Court documents indicated that she sought sole physical custody of their daughter, Dylan, who will turn two in January. Meanwhile, Cope aimed for spousal support to be excluded.
On October 8, Cope amended her divorce petition to pursue joint legal custody while still requesting sole physical custody of Dylan.
Lawrence also has daughters Charleston, 18, and Liberty, 14, from his marriage to Chandie Yawn-Nelson. Their marriage lasted from 2002 to 2020. Lawrence and Cope met while filming Lifetimeâs My Husbandâs Secret Brother, leading to their marriage in Temecula, California, in 2022. Their split became public when Cope filed for divorce in August.
Allegations of infidelity involving Lawrence and his costar Melina Alves surfaced, but both denied those claims. In an Instagram statement, Lawrence alluded to the breakdown of his marriage, stating that Cope allegedly struggled to accept his daughters. Cope has refuted this assertion.
During an August episode of his podcast "Brotherly Love," Lawrence shared his thoughts on the relationship, believing he may have rushed into a new commitment too soon after his previous marriage. He said, "I loved the idea of relationships so much that, even in a weakened state, I fell into a committed relationship, but I wasnât ready for that." He acknowledged a disconnect between his ideologies and how he managed his personal beliefs.
