John Stamos Reflects on Love and Loss, Encourages Dave Coulier Amid Cancer Battle
As the new year begins, John Stamos shares heartfelt reflections on those closest to him. The Full House star took to Instagram on January 1, expressing thoughts surrounding "love, loss, and growth."
"Happy New Year!" Stamos started in his caption. "As the calendar turns, I look back on a year filled with love, loss, and growth. This past year has transformed me. I encountered immense gratitude, deep sadness, and clarity that comes when you embrace life fully."
The post featured a photo of Stamos with his wife, Caitlin McHugh, and their son, Billy, emphasizing their bond.
"To Caitlin and Billy — you are my heart," Stamos wrote. "Every morning we’ve spent cuddling has created memories I cherish forever. You remind me daily that the simplest moments bring the greatest meaning."
Stamos extended his thoughts to his Full House costar, Dave Coulier, who is currently fighting cancer. He tagged Coulier in his heartfelt message.
"@dcoulier you got this!" the 61-year-old actor conveyed. Coulier, diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in October, is facing a significant health battle.
The actor also shared a poignant memory of childhood friend Mike Owen, whom he lost to a heart attack in November.
"To Mike, my oldest friend, who we lost this year — you will forever be my silent Obi-Wan, guiding me through life. Losing you left a void, but your light shines in everything I do," Stamos noted.
Additionally, Stamos highlighted his pride in sobriety achievements from 2024, marking it as a significant turning point.
"This year, I celebrated my soberness once again, which fills me with pride. I embrace the second chances that life provides when you choose to engage fully," he conveyed. "I look forward to the future—new projects, stories to explore, and connections to foster. For now, I cherish the stillness, laughter, and love during these moments with my family."
To his followers, he offered warm wishes: "May the new year bring you kindness, courage, and peace in knowing you are precisely where you are meant to be."
