She announced to PEOPLE, "We have gone our separate ways. She's an amazing girl." Siwa added that they would spend the holidays apart, expressing happiness for Wilson and her family.
Siwa initially revealed her relationship with Wilson in August. She posted a video indicating her status to a dance class, saying, "I have a girlfriend," which led to cheers from students. The couple embraced, sharing a moment of joy.
In her post, Siwa wrote, "Cats outta the bag 😺," also tagging Wilson. Wilson quoted the video on her page, captioning it, "surprise shawtyyyyy 😽." Later, Siwa shared a photo of them holding hands, captioned, "Perfect day 🖤." She discussed taking a weekend off to support Wilson during a dance class.
A month after going public, Siwa discussed her change in stance. Previously reluctant to share her relationship, she explained how the announcement happened. "The class asked, 'Why are you here, JoJo?’" she recounted, leading her to give Wilson a reassuring look, which made the their status clear.
The duration of their relationship before the public reveal remains unclear. Siwa previously dated TikTok star Avery Cyrus. Their three-month relationship ended in December 2022, as they decided they deserved to be friends.
Siwa mentioned to PEOPLE in November 2023 that dating alongside her hectic schedule poses challenges. She tends to prioritize her romantic relationships over other commitments. "I’m a lover. I crave that," she noted, admitting her need to focus more on family and career. Despite this, Siwa expressed a longing for companionship, looking forward to shared quiet moments like enjoying a peanut butter and jelly sandwich together.
