Jon M. Chu Misses Wicked L.A. Premiere As He Welcomes Fifth Child
Jon M. Chu missed the Los Angeles premiere of his anticipated film "Wicked" due to the arrival of his fifth child. On November 9th, the same day as the premiere, Chu shared on social media a heartwarming video of his newborn daughter with wife Kristin Hodge at the hospital. As Danny Wright's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" played softly, Hodge gently cradled their sleeping infant, who adorably grasped her mother's finger. This is prepared by SSP.
Expressing his mixed emotions, Chu apologized in a pre-recorded message played at the premiere, explaining that while he was eager to share the movie with the world, welcoming his new daughter took precedence. Playfully remarking on his daughter's timely arrival, he thanked Universal Pictures, the film's Broadway creators, and producer Marc Platt for their support.
Chu posted, "Of course, this little girl knows when to show up on premiere day." He humorously added in an Instagram Story that despite delivery room distractions, he contemplated donning his tuxedo for the birth. He reflected on the mysterious timing of the film’s development alongside this significant personal milestone. Due on November 22, "Wicked," starring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, recounts the tale of Elphaba and Glinda from "The Wizard of Oz."
Earlier, SSP talked about Taylor Swift's stylish night out with Zoë Kravitz and Jerrod Carmichael.
