Josh O'Connor's Luxurious Experience While Filming Knives Out 3
In a conversation with his costar Daniel Craig for Variety, the two reminisced about their time on set last summer. O'Connor admitted that the accommodations spoiled him. "The trailers! That’s the best trailer I’ve ever had in my life. It’s better than my flat in London," said O'Connor, age 34. He noted that he often knocked on Craig’s door. Craig, aged 56, returns as private investigator Benoit Blanc in Wake Me Up Dead Man, which Netflix is promoting as Blanc’s "most dangerous case yet." Previous films in the series featured stars like Ana de Armas and Chris Evans in 2019's Knives Out, along with Kate Hudson and Janelle Monáe in 2022’s Glass Onion. Craig is the only actor to appear in each film. This is prepared by SSP.
During their discussion, O'Connor and Craig also talked about their experiences with director Luca Guadagnino in separate projects. O'Connor praised Craig's film Queer, calling it "a total masterpiece." He remarked on Craig’s character, Lee, who embodies confidence despite feelings of insecurity. Craig shared that the exploration of masculinity in the story resonated with him. "You see a love between the two guys that trumps everything around it," he noted, referring to the plot of Challengers.
O'Connor also reflected on how close he and Craig grew while filming Knives Out 3, "I’ve never experienced anything like it on a film set. We were in each other’s pockets for three months. Particularly you and me. Most of the time it was just you and me."
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, directed by Rian Johnson, is set to debut on Netflix in 2025.
