Kate Gosselin Makes Rare Public Appearance in Charlotte

Kate Gosselin was spotted in Charlotte, N.C., on October 13, marking her rare public outing. The former star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 has stayed out of the spotlight since the show's conclusion in 2017.

During the outing, Gosselin, age 49, was seen smiling while casually dressed in black pants and a pink T-shirt. She completed her look with running shoes and a neat ponytail.

In recent years, Kate has kept a low profile. However, she recently gained attention when her 20-year-old son Collin accused her of childhood mistreatment. He shared startling claims regarding his upbringing with The U.S. Sun in September.

Collin described a disturbing situation where his mother had a room built in their unfinished basement. He said, "She had a room put up with cameras in it, a tiny window in the corner, and it was bolt-locked from the outside. It was like a containment room with a mattress on the floor."

Additionally, he alleged that in 2016, Kate had him institutionalized, impacting his military career in the Marines. Due to their fractured relationship, Collin said he has been estranged from his twin sisters Mady and Cara, as well as four of his sextuplet siblings: Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel. During his teenage years, he lived with his father, Jon, and sister Hannah.

Kate has not publicly addressed these allegations. Her lawyer, Richard Puelo, informed Fox News that she prefers not to comment, acknowledging the tendency for her words to be misinterpreted.

Jon, her ex-husband, has also spoken out about his estrangement from much of his family. On The Domenick Nati Show in July, the 47-year-old mentioned, "I think it’s maybe parent alienation… you’re swaying someone." He stressed that some individuals might manipulate their children or others to distance them from the other parent.
