Kate Middleton and Family Enjoy Ski Vacation Before Remission Announcement
The Princess of Wales enjoyed a ski vacation in the Alps before announcing her cancer is in remission. According to reports from "The Mail on Sunday," this getaway occurred after Christmas spent with the royal family at Sandringham.
Reported on January 19, 2025, Catherine, Princess of Wales, 43, joined Prince William, 42, and their three children – Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 – along with the Middleton family for a holiday. This trip followed their traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, where they participated in the customary walk to St. Mary Magdalene Church.
On their ski vacation, a source shared with "The Mail on Sunday" that James Middleton, Kate’s younger brother, was present. Observers noted that the family appeared "really happy." The source added, "Kate looked like she was having a lovely time."
James Middleton also shared his skiing experience during the same period with humorous yet reflective insight. He posted pictures on a ski trip with his wife Alizee and their one-year-old son, Inigo. He stated that the "January blues" used to affect him but noted he was experiencing "a different type of January blues" this year.
"We started the New Year with an adventure into the mountains," he remarked, expressing gratitude for the "blue skies" and "cold, crisp air."
Catherine spent her 43rd birthday on January 9 at home in Adelaide Cottage, after George, Charlotte, and Louis returned to school on January 8. This timing suggests that their ski vacation likely took place between December 25 and January 8.
Five days after her birthday, on January 14, Kate surprised patrons at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she received her cancer treatment last year. In an Instagram post, she shared becoming a joint patron of the hospital, marking a significant development in her cancer journey.
"It is a relief to now be in remission," she expressed. "I remain focused on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal."
Looking ahead, she expressed optimism by stating, "I am, however, looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you, everyone, for your continued support."
