Katy Perry Expresses Excitement for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour After Their Feud
Katy Perry shared her excitement after attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Sydney last year. The two singers, who had a prominent public feud, repaired their friendship and enjoyed the moment together.
In a recent interview with U.K. radio station Capital, Perry recounted her eagerness to attend the show. She explained, "I actually went and did a show in Australia very quickly and I had one day off before the show. I was like, ‘Hey girl, I'm gonna come to the show.’" Swift's enthusiastic response matched Perry's own excitement. Holding a selfie of their reunion taken in February 2024, she added, "And [Swift] was so excited, and I was so excited."
Perry praised Swift's fans as "an adorable sweet community." She fondly remembered the experience of trading bracelets with Swifties. "People gave me bracelets, and I think Rita [Ora] gave me a bracelet," noted Perry, referencing another attendee and British singer. She remarked, "I loved it. It's just like a community; it's an adorable sweet community."
Expressing her affection for Swift, Perry stated, "I got to see her, and we got to catch up, and I love her so much." This positive encounter highlights the rekindled bond between the two.
Perry’s attendance at the Eras Tour marked a significant moment after her reconciled friendship with Swift. The harmony between the two developed further when they appeared in Swift’s "You Need to Calm Down" music video in 2019, wearing matching hamburger and French fry costumes. After the February 2024 concert, Perry shared photos and videos from the event on Instagram, featuring a joyful selfie with Swift backstage. She captioned it, "Got to see an old friend shine tonight ♥️✨."
In her posts, Perry included clips of Swift performing hits like "You Belong with Me" and "Bad Blood," Playfully mouthing the lyrics as she recorded. In July 2020, Perry expressed gratitude for their restored friendship, emphasizing their new connection. "What I’m so grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemption for young girls," she revealed during an interview on the Howard Stern Show. She added, "I always wanted the best for her, and now we can talk about the best we want for each other."
