Kelly Stafford Celebrates Matthew Stafford’s Return to the Rams: ‘The Relief I Felt’

Kelly Stafford Celebrates Matt's Contract with the Rams Kelly Stafford expressed immense happiness upon her husband, Matthew Stafford, signing a new contract with the Los Angeles Rams, US Weekly reported.

"I’m so excited. Thank goodness," Kelly, 35, exclaimed on the March 14 episode of the "Give Them Lala" podcast. She added, "This was what my husband and I wanted all along. We didn’t want to leave. He loves the Rams, so we’re thrilled that we can stay here and that it’s all settled."

NFL quarterback Matthew, 37, was traded to the Rams in 2021 and recently secured his position for the upcoming season.

"Oh, God, the relief I felt was pretty unreal," Kelly reflected with podcast host Lala Kent. "Every day brought new rumors about trades. It was tiring and stressful."

Kelly noted the added pressures of family life. "We have four girls, and without them, my stress would be less. But with our daughters, planning ahead is essential," she said.

The couple, who married in April 2015, are parents to four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7, Hunter, 6, and Tyler, 4.

"This situation makes planning tough," Kelly continued. "People don’t realize how unpredictable the NFL can be. Players are traded or cut, and families must adjust quickly—finding schools and activities for children."

 With Matthew and the Rams reaching an agreement for another year, Kelly feels "so happy and relieved" that their family remains in Los Angeles.

"When you get that news and see your husband’s happiness, I’m like, ‘Let’s go out for cocktails and celebrate,’" she joked. "I’m ready to let loose!"

Kelly has been Matthew’s biggest supporter since college and loves watching him play.

"It’s incredible. When he’s on the field, he transforms into a different person," she said during the podcast episode. "What a turn-on. It’s remarkable to see how much of a loving father he is to our daughters after being a manly figure on the field."

She also shared, "I adore him as a football player, but the way he is as a girl dad is the biggest turn-on. Maybe he should consider getting snipped."
