Kim Kardashian Reportedly Considering Full Custody Amid Kanye West’s Controversies

As Kanye West's controversial actions unfold in public and on social media, Kim Kardashian is contemplating legal action. Sources informed Us Weekly that Kardashian, aged 44, is "considering" filing for full custody of their four children: North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.
"She is in a very tough position when she has to coparent with him," an insider explained. "Right now he is very distracted and she is reluctant to speak negatively about him. However, the safety of her kids is the driving factor behind this consideration."

Additionally, another source indicated Kardashian is "worried" that West’s behavior online may "create problems" for their children. Recent events have fueled these concerns. West, 47, has recently engaged in alarming behavior, including antisemitic rants. He also caused concern by releasing a song alongside Sean "Diddy" Combs, featuring their eldest child, North. The song titled "Lonely Roads Still Go to Sunshine" was released on March 15. West posted alleged text exchanges with Kardashian that suggested her attempts to prevent the song's release to protect North’s trademark.
"I asked you at the time if I can trademark her name. You said yes. When she’s 18, it goes to her. So stop," Kardashian reportedly stated, as seen in the leaked messages. "I sent paperwork over so she wouldn’t be in the Diddy song to protect her," she added.

In response, West allegedly asserted, "And neither of us will recover from the public fallout. You’re going to have to kill me."
Kardashian and West married in 2014 and remained married for seven years. Kardashian filed for divorce in February 2021, which was finalized in November 2022. She has previously shared about the difficulties of coparenting, expressing her desire for her children to have the same nurturing experiences she had as a child.
"I had the best dad. Coparenting is really f—ing hard," Kardashian said on the "Angie Martinez IRL" podcast in December 2022. "That is all I want for them."

Kardashian addressed the difficulty in shielding her kids from their father's controversial actions. "I definitely protected him, and I still will in the eyes of my kids," she stated. "In my home, my kids don’t know anything that goes on outside. While I can still protect that, I will."
She shared the emotional toll of maintaining this protective atmosphere. "I have to have that smile on my face and blast his music and sing along with my kids. I can act like nothing is wrong," Kardashian continued. "As soon as I drop them off, I can have a good cry."
West has also spoken about his approach to parenting, sharing, "Even to this day, I’ll still give Kim advice on things that could help because that’s going to go to the kids." In September 2022, he noted, "She’s still got them 80 percent of the time, so what people saw when I was going back and forth is that I still have to be able to influence the curriculum."
