Kody Brown Claims Ex Meri Brown Was "Never Loyal" in Their Marriage

In the recent episode of Sister Wives aired on October 13, Kody Brown expressed his views regarding his marriage with Meri Brown, writes E! News. Kody's perspective on the dissolution of their spiritual union appears quite strong.

Meri initiated a formal request to the couple's church to end their marriage, which commenced in 1990. Although they legally divorced in 2014, Meri maintained a sense of commitment, believing she was still married to Kody despite their estrangement. Kody shared during the episode, "I got a phone call from the church leader who said we've given Meri a release," further mentioning other statements from the church that upset him.

Meri clarified the nature of those unsettling comments, stating, "They did say that it was on the grounds of abandonment." While Meri holds this view, Kody disagreed, feeling he never abandoned her.

Kody's Decision to Stay

Kody revealed that his choice to remain in the marriage stemmed partly from Robyn’s hopes for them to reconcile. He recalled, "Robyn felt that if I waited on God that things could change for mine and Meri's relationship." Despite following this advice, Kody eventually concluded that their relationship was not going to improve. He expressed regret for not recognizing this sooner.

In a candid statement, Kody also mentioned that fear played a role in his decision. "I'm absolutely relieved that it's done," he remarked about concluding his marriage to Meri. "I had moved on a long time ago. But let's just be honest here. I was afraid of what she would do if I ripped off that Band-Aid." He commented on Meri’s loyalty, stating, "It's because Meri was never loyal to me, ever."

The Impact of Past Scandals

Meri experienced a dramatic catfishing scandal in 2015, where she interacted online with someone she believed to be a man. This individual publicized their communications during her marriage, further complicating Kody and Meri’s situation. Despite their legal separation, the pair chose to stay legally married for several more years.

Reflecting on Kody’s recent remarks, Meri expressed disappointment. "It feels like the narrative has changed with him," she commented. "The things that he's saying about me to other people and that people are believing are not true."
