Kristen Bell Donates Over $100K to Help Pay Medical Bills for Those in Need
Kristen Bell concluded the year with a generous gesture aimed at helping those in need.
The 44-year-old actress collaborated with social media figure Tommy Marcus, known as Quentin Quarantino, to raise funds for individuals struggling to settle medical expenses. On December 30, Marcus shared DM screenshots where he contacted Bell about supporting one health-related GoFundMe campaign each day. Bell embraced this idea, contributing significantly to achieve one fundraiser's target. "We need to do more things like this, the world needs it 💕," she expressed in a message.
In another communication, Bell inquired, "How can I give 100,000 to people needing support for medical bills? I want to ensure we do this effectively. How can we proceed?" Marcus proposed that for each fundraiser posted, Bell could contribute the amount once it reached halfway to its goal. "For instance, if the next campaign needs $50k, you donate $25k when it reaches $25k, and we can move on?" he suggested.
Elated, Bell responded, "YES!! TOMMY LET'S DO IT!"
One of the GoFundMe campaigns highlighted by Marcus involved Bell donating $20,932 for a third grader named Mia striving against leukemia, which helped surpass its $50,000 goal. Additionally, she contributed $24,182 to assist a man named Murilo in his cancer battle.
Thanks to Bell’s contributions, Marcus remarked that his latest fundraising initiative offers a significant chance for positive impact. He stated in an Instagram caption, "The more you can donate, share, or engage, the greater the potential for this to become a movement, inspiring other generous individuals like Kristen to join in, thus saving and changing countless lives."
Marcus expressed his gratitude towards Bell in an Instagram Story, thanking her for embracing his idea and becoming a pivotal force to support those in need. "Thank you, @kristenanniebell, for supporting this movement," he wrote.
In turn, Bell shared links to Mia's and Murilo's GoFundMe campaigns on her own Instagram Story.
Her generous donations come on the heels of celebrating the holidays with her husband, Dax Shepard, and their two daughters, Lincoln (11) and Delta (10). They visited Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, California, where Bell drew creative inspiration from "The Wizard of Oz" and "Wicked" for their family's Christmas tree.
On December 25, she showcased her festive creation on Instagram, complete with a whimsical portrayal featuring the Yellow Brick Road and the Wicked Witch of the East's legs peeking from the tree skirt, adorned with pink and green ornaments, topped with angels inspired by Glinda and Elphaba.
